The verdict
Recommended
Probably one of my favourite lenses, and the one I get to use least. In bright and ultra bright light it is the best of the set: it lifts contrast on tarmac, in the woods, on almost every surface. Two honest caveats. The mirror looks good, but Ruby and Sapphire look cooler from the outside. And the moment the light drops below bright it is instantly too dark, which is true of the whole Road family. A bright light only lens, and inside that band it performs amazingly.

The specimen
Lens comparison
The same seven scenes, one locked exposure. This one is loaded against Prizm Road Jade.
How brightness is shown. Every lens was shot at one locked exposure set on the bare sensor, so True exposure is the real light transmission. Your eye adapts, so a dark lens never looks that dark in life: Eye adapted raises each image by its measured transmission (perceived = transmission^0.5). Colour only normalises every lens to the same brightness to isolate the tint.

What it is
The default road tint and the reference against which the other specimens in this series are normalised. A muted rose brown, noticeably less saturated than Road Jade at the same sample point.
