Will the prescription clip fit properly in the Sutro Lite S?

The Sutro Lite S has a smaller frame than the regular Sutro, which leaves less space for the prescription clip. In rare cases this can cause a fit issue. If you experience any problems, we can upgrade your order to the regular Oakley Sutro which has more room and works perfectly — just reach out to us.

Can I use the clip from one Sutro model in another Sutro model?

Yes, all Sutro clips are identical, so you can buy one clip and swap it between the Sutro, Sutro S, Sutro Lite, Sutro Lite S, and Sutro Lite Sweep. The only exception is the Sutro TI, which is a titanium metal model and is not compatible.

The Oakley Sutro Lite S prescription insert (rx insert) clips behind the original Sutro Lite S shield. Same frame, same tint, same field of view. Single vision, progressive, high RX and astigmatism: all supported. Your prescription, sorted.

We use tools and engineering techniques from Swiss watchmaking to achieve the tolerances that make progressives and strong prescriptions possible. This is not a universal adapter.

Fit note: The Sutro Lite S has less internal space than the regular Sutro. If your prescription is strong (sphere above +/-4.00 or cylinder above +/-2.00), message us before ordering. We'll confirm whether the insert works for your RX.

Precision Fit

We engineer and manufacture the nosepads in-house to make sure they meet our standards for your specific frame model. The rubber compound is developed in-house for grip that holds during sweat without marking the shield.

For the Sutro Lite S, Trivex keeps the insert weight low while delivering sharp optics. If your prescription is on the stronger side, get in touch so we can recommend a thinner lens that fits the smaller frame.
