The verdict
Recommended
I was sceptical of this lens at first: why not just wear the clear, do I really need that light tint? It is worth it. From medium light downwards it has become my favourite in the woods, an evening ride with little light left is exactly its territory, and it is the better grip reader, picking out the green slippery stuff that Trail Torch misses. It cuts a little of the harshness out of bright sun, but not much, so rides with hard bright stretches want something darker. And when it is pitch dark, the clear takes over.

How brightness is shown. Every lens was shot at one locked exposure set on the bare sensor, so True exposure is the real light transmission. Your eye adapts, so a dark lens never looks that dark in life: Eye adapted raises each image by its measured transmission (perceived = transmission^0.5). Colour only normalises every lens to the same brightness to isolate the tint.

What it is
Barely a sunglass at 75% transmission, a very pale warm rose against the clear control. The lens for rides that start before sunrise or end after sunset. Also the specimen most often faked.
