Banana Optics Care: terms

Banana Optics Care is a paid protection plan offered by Banana Optics (Vanilla Systems GmbH, Switzerland) for one product bought at bananaoptics.com: a prescription insert or clip, or sunglasses with prescription lenses. It covers only the one product it was bought with, and replaces that product one time if it is accidentally damaged within the first 12 months.

What is covered

• One time replacement within 12 months of delivery.
• Accidental damage, including cracked frames or scratched lenses.
• Breakdown due to normal wear and tear.
• Manufacturer defects.

What is not covered

• Loss or theft.
• Deliberate damage, or damage from use the product is not made for.
• Cosmetic wear that does not affect function, such as light marks on the frame.
• A change of prescription. The replacement is made with the prescription of the original order.
• Anything bought separately from the pair the plan was added to.

How it works

• The plan covers only the one product it was bought with, the one it was added to at checkout. It is listed on the order as Banana Optics Care with that product named. Other items on the same order are not covered unless they have their own plan.
• Cover starts on the day of delivery and ends 12 months later, or as soon as the one replacement has been made.
• To claim, write to contact@bananaoptics.com with the order number and a photo of the damage. I answer within two working days.
• I replace the pair with the same model, the same lenses and the same prescription. If the model is no longer available, I offer the closest current model at no extra cost.
• Shipping of the replacement is on me. I may ask you to return the damaged pair first.
• One replacement per plan. The replacement pair is not covered by a new plan unless you buy one.

Price and cancellation

• The price is shown at checkout and includes VAT. It is charged once and does not renew.
• Within 30 days of delivery you can cancel the plan for a full refund, as long as no claim was made. After that the price is not refundable.
• If you return the covered pair within the 30 day return window, the plan is refunded with it.

General

• The plan is offered by Banana Optics (Vanilla Systems GmbH, Switzerland) and is governed by Swiss law.
• Your statutory warranty rights are not affected by this plan.
• I can update these terms for new purchases; the terms in force on the day you bought the plan apply to your plan.
